WMS Announcements for Monday February 11 ,2019

  • LUNCH: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner roll, fruit, veggie & milk or Salad Bar

  • 6th grade boys interested in playing basketball this year need to attend a meeting Tuesday, February 12th at lunch recess in the gym.  Mr. Buckley will be there to explain the requirements and when practices will begin. If you have any questions see Mr. Goyette.

  • Ms. Damron is challenging WMS staff & students to help the Pre-K students learn about Random Acts of Kindness. Here is the challenge:  as a school, complete 100 acts of kindness by Feb. 14th. Write your act of kindness on a heart and place on the kindness tree located outside the Pre-school classroom.  No act of kindness is too small! The hearts are located in the office in a basket.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the inspiration for this challenge. Dr. King taught about the importance of showing love and being kind... even when it is hard and even when people aren't necessarily being kind to you. Dr. King taught that LOVE can drive out hate.

As we honor Dr. King along with many other great leaders who have taught about showing love and kindness, we encourage you to join us and SPREAD KINDNESS. Spread it in your homes, your neighborhoods, and your communities. Do small acts of kindness together with your families and community and see how these simple acts make a big difference in the lives of other people... and in you!

  • Student Council will be selling Valentine's Lollipops during homeroom on Valentine's Day.  They each cost $1.00 and there are Valentine's cards you can choose from for free with purchase of a lollipop.  We will be selling during homeroom. Please bring the correct amount of money for the number of lollipops you'd like to buy because we may not have correct change to give you back.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Schaaf.

  • There will be a student council meeting for all members on Wednesday at 7:45 in Mrs. Schaaf's room.  We will be finalizing sales plans, so you must be on time.

  • We have WMS Demon T-shirts for sale!  The cool thing about these is that you get to put the print on yourself if you’d like!  All funds from this fundraiser go directly back into the WMS fundraiser account that funds our BLITZ days and other fun things we do.  Stop by the office and pick up an order form and see what they look like! Cost of the t-shirts is $15.

  • The Selfie of the week is posted in the hallway going up the stairs from the main entrance. Congratulations to Mrs. Lynn’s 6th grade Art students for being selected this week! Thank you to everyone for submitting their pictures.  Just a reminder that selfies must be then submitted to Mr. Goyette by email for consideration as the Selfie of the week. Please make sure you have teacher/staff member permission to have your phone out before you take any of the selfies.  We want to see all of the cool things going on at WMS!

  • We are taking submissions for the Joke of the Day that I read during the morning announcements.  If you would like your joke to be considered please email it to Mr. Goyette for consideration.

  • This is a reminder to students and staff to remember to nominate others for the TIP Kindness Award.  Anytime you observe a student or staff member doing a kind deed for another, you may write up an award for them.  These are delivered at the end of the month by our TIP members. You may pick them up from the main office or from Mrs. Nissley.
