5th grade Music Electives at LES
5th graders have the opportunity to sign up for Bonus Music classes. These will take place at the end of the school day, from 2:50 - 3:30 (during their final recess and study hall/W.I.N./3 things time.)
This year the choices will be Choir, Recorders, and Handbells.
Each Bonus class will meet one or two times a week.
Students may be in all 3, if they have the permission of their teacher and parents.
They may try it out for a week before deciding.
If they join, they are choosing to commit to participating through the end of the 2nd quarter (December 18).
There is no fee for joining.
Recorders and handbells are the property of LES (you don’t have to rent or buy one) and need to be returned by 12/18.
Any 5th grader may join, provided that they set a positive example in regular Music Class.
Sept 2, 3,4 - student info meetings
Sept 8-11 - “give it a try” week, contracts sent home
Sept 15 - December 18 - practice
Performance dates TBA. Stay tuned!
Please contact Mrs. Allen with any questions: allena@glendiveschools.org.

Just as a reminder, personal technology devices (phones, smart watches, etc.) are not to be used during school hours. If students bring them to school they must be kept inside their backpacks until they leave for the day. Please contact the office if you need to give your child a message during the day. Thank you for your understanding!
⭐For more information on this, please refer to the bottom of page 27 in the handbook.

Today we recognized our fourth quarter B.U.G Award students! Congratulations to all of these fourth and fifth graders that worked hard this quarter!

Just another school day…. “As a DCC student for the day!”

Tomorrow (May 21st) at 10 is the last B.U.G Award assembly for our fourth and fifth graders! Hope to see you there! 🐞

From Transportation Dept:
Bus 7 will not run Monday, May 19th (AM and PM)

Third graders swimming into summer! Reminder that next week is the LAST WEEK of school for the year!

Today was a fun day for our students!
🧪4th and 5th graders were able to spend the morning up at DCC participating in a variety of S.T.E.M rotations that were taught by college professors and other community members.
🧑🔬Then in the afternoon, 3rd grade joined us for a showing of the Atomic Circus brought to us by MSUB.
💥The Atomic Circus is such a fun show, and you will NOT want to miss it! There will be a FREE community showing TONIGHT at 6:00 pm in the DCC auditorium. Seats are limited, so get there early!

Tomorrow (May 8th) is field day! Students will need to wear tennis shoes and bring a sack lunch!

Shout-out to Miss Kari for making our students (and staff) feel better each day! We would be lost without you!

Thank you to the Glendive PTA for organizing a staff lunch today! We would also like to thank Gust Hauf, Crav'ns, and Parker & Ashley Powell for the pizza, pop, and coffee donations! Our teachers at LES really appreciate all of the kindness!
