Bad news again regarding the floor at Washington Middle School. We had some valves that we estimate are 70 years old, leak under the gym floor. When we turned on the boilers here a few weeks ago, the water then started to evaporate and rise into the wood once again buckling the floor. We have had plumbers in to remove the valves and fix the leaks, a mitigation/restoration company in to dry things out and western sports floors in to evaluate the damage to the floor. We were hopeful that the mitigation was going to return the floor buckling to normal, but unfortunately there wasn't any change in the conditions. The end result is a gym we can not use for any contests until repairs are made. All girls basketball home games will be played at DCHS unless notified otherwise. The WMS Wrestling Mixer scheduled for Nov 21st will be cancelled as DCHS is not available that day. We apologize to everyone for this inconvenience as we work through this issue.
