DCHS NHS alums, NJHS members, and Glendive Public Schools Staff, we invite you to our annual Induction Ceremony on April 7th at 6 p.m. This coming Monday is the annual NHS Induction Ceremony, a night of leadership and service. We celebrate our current chapter members and everything they have accomplished that year, have a senior send-off, and hand out awards. The highlight is welcoming the inductees as the newest members of our chapter and celebrating this milestone with them. We would love to see NHS Alums, NJHS members (hopeful future NHS members), and GPS staff celebrate with us. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Ms. Fawns.

The DCHS Spring Play, “Bad Hair Day” by R. Eugene Jackson, is in rehearsals! Enjoy a funny, family-friendly story of ambition gone awry. Students at several area schools are creating amazing hair styles from a new product, but then they experience a side effect that none of them (well, almost none of them) want. It’s up to a group of teens who didn’t receive the new hair product to help the police get to the bottom of the hair-RAZING experience. Can they find the culprits and prove their guilt beyond the shadow of a doubt? Shows will be March 28th at 7pm, March 29th at 7pm, and March 30th at 2 pm. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students, children 5 and under free. All performances are in the DCHS Auditorium. This play is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, CO.

Art in Science! 🖌️🔬 Mr. Pagawisan's Sophomore Biology class recently took on the Special Species Activity, where creativity met science! Students randomly selected cards containing Latin and English words from five categories: number, animal, body part, color, and trait. Using the English words, they crafted unique common names for their imagined species, while the Latin words helped them create scientific names. But the fun didn’t stop there! In the second part of the activity, students brought their species to life through detailed illustrations on the five cards, complete with habitat, diet, and life expectancy. The results? A showcase of imagination, scientific thinking, and creativity as students blended taxonomy with artistic expression. Great job, young biologists! 🦎🌱🦜

Three Dawson FFA members earned Supervised Agricultural Experience Grants from the National FFA Association and the Montana FFA Foundation. Over the last 4 years Dawson FFA members have received a total of $15,500 from both the state and national FFA programs to build their SAE projects. Connley used his money to grow his sheep production SAE. Connor is using his funds to grow his meat processing SAE, and Hailey is using her money to grow her sheep production SAE. Over 1,000 FFA members put in for these awards at the national level with a very competitive and challenging application process. In the context of the National FFA Organization, an FFA SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) is a required, student-led, work-based learning experience that allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world agricultural settings and develop skills for future careers. Here's a more detailed explanation: What it is: An SAE is a practical, hands-on learning experience that complements classroom instruction in agricultural education. SAEs help students: Apply what they've learned in the classroom to real-world situations. Gain experience in different areas of agriculture. Develop skills and knowledge that are relevant to their chosen career path. Learn about different agricultural careers and industries. Enhance employability skills and college readiness. Types of SAEs: There are various types of SAEs, including: Exploratory: These are foundational projects that allow students to explore different areas of agriculture. Placement/Internship: Students work in a paid or unpaid agricultural setting. Entrepreneurship: Students start and operate their own agricultural business. Research/Experimental: Students conduct research projects to answer specific questions. Analytical: Students analyze data or information related to agriculture.
